In the quest to constantly understand our community better, we at Eureka Surveys dared to delve into one of the most contentious household debates ever - the correct way to hang toilet paper, 'over' or 'under'? Now it's time to unravel the results!

In an enlightening exercise of democratic opinion, we asked our community members to vote on this seemingly innocuous yet surprisingly divisive subject. Over a whooping total of 42,063 votes later, the verdict is in. It seems 'over' takes the roll, leaving 'under' trailing behind.

The Overwhelming Preference - 'Over'

An impressive 63% of the respondents hang their toilet paper with the roll cascading 'over'. Why so, you ask? Could it be because the pattern on the toilet paper is more visibly appealing this way, making an everyday item just a touch more pleasant? Or perhaps it's the fact it's easier to grip and tear the amount you require?

Either way, it's clear that 'over' is the popular choice among Eureka community members. It seems that beyond just ease and esthetics, this could also reflect a potential bias towards right-handed individuals (who are the majority), as 'over' is easier to handle right-handed.

The Underdogs - 'Under'

On the flip side, 37% of participants prefer their toilet paper the 'under' way. While this might surprise some, our respondents revealed a variety of reasons for their choices. From limited space constraints to households with curious pets or toddlers, hanging the paper 'under' prevents unwinding sprees!

Irrespective of the reasons behind these choices, it's fascinating to discover such a divide over something as mundane as toilet paper. And while the debate may continue to unroll, at Eureka Surveys, we'll continue seeking insights into the little things that make us all wonderfully unique.
