In our quest to uncover better ways to help people make money online, we at Eureka Surveys recently asked our respondents, 'What type of gig work do you primarily do?' We received a diverse set of responses indicative of the varied landscape of the gig economy. The findings reveal an interesting trend that we will delve into below.
Our survey revealed that a vast number of our respondents (13707 out of 34572) have never done any gig work. This number affirms the recent studies showing a lower percentage of full-time gig economy workers. For many, gig work supplements their income rather than being their primary source. Most people explore the gig economy for a side hustle, wanting to make an extra buck while maintaining their day job. Eureka Surveys is another easy way for these people to make side-hustle cash online.

Gig Work Trends: Unveiling the Lucrative Fields
Beyond the dominantly 'non-gig-workers', those engaged in Home services including cleaning and repairs lead, followed by Delivery services, and Ride-sharing. Freelance writing or design, and Tutoring or teaching are evidently less popular. The results highlight that labor-intensive services are higher in demand in the gig economy, perhaps due to the immediate requirement and accessibility.
Significantly, the increasing demand for Home services and Delivery services might be an aftermath of the global pandemic. As the world continues to turn digital, taking up gig work in these areas offer substantial opportunities for workers to make money.
