A recent Eureka Survey explored the struggle and journey of weight loss, with a focus on the battleground of dieting. The poll questioned whether people are currently dieting to lose weight, and as always with Eureka, the answers offered revealing views about online users.

The largest section of our respondents, a significant 51%, stated that they are not currently on a diet. This doesn't necessarily mean isolated from the concept of dieting, as many just might find other methods of maintaining or losing weight more effective, like exercising or making lifestyle changes.

The Hurdles of Dieting

On the flip side, 25% of our respondents were actively trying to lose weight through dieting, while 13% admitted they aren't doing so well with their diet. This reflects the often difficult journey of weight loss and the hurdles people face when trying to stick to a diet.

Comments from those who are struggling painted pictures of doom with many saying that misinformation, lack of time or discipline, and even emotional eating hinder their weight loss efforts. It’s a good reminder that while dieting can seem like an easy way to make money online - by participating in paid surveys about weight loss - the reality of dieting is far from simple.

Dieting: A Worn Road

Our poll also revealed that many have been down the dieting route before. Around 9% of our respondents have tried dieting in the past but are not currently on a diet. It’s not clear if they've met their weight loss goals or just given up but whatever the truth may be, the poll indicates that the journey of dieting is indeed a well-trodden road.

Finally, around 3% of our respondents preferred not to answer the poll. Perhaps this hesitance to share indicates the personal and sometimes sensitive nature of weight loss and dieting efforts. One thing’s for sure, though. Eureka Surveys offers a platform for everyone to have their say in a comfortable and anonymous way, while also giving an easy opportunity to make money online by simply sharing their opinion through free paid surveys.
